ZINC 182

ANTI RUST COAT

DESCRIPTION: Isopon Zinc 182 is a highly effective rust inhabiting primer. It can be applied to all ferrous metal surfaces provided the loose rust is removed. Complete removal of all rust will improve its effectiveness. The hardened Isopon Zinc 182 forms a tough durable surface onto which paint can be applied. Once applied Isopon Zinc 182 will provide first class rust protection to ferrous surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Isopon Zinc 182 anti rust coat can be used on the following surfaces:-

  • Bare metal use 180 grade paper. Re-clean and dry.
  • Existing paint surfaces degrease with a suitable spirit wipe or thinner. Wet flat with 400 grade paper.

APPLICATION: Stir paint in tin thoroughly before use. Isopon Zinc 182 can be applied by brush, dip or spray gun. For aerosols shake thoroughly before use.

THINNERS: Isopon Zinc 182 is supplied ready for use for brush or dip applications. However up to 10% of good quality synthetic or cellulose thinners can be added to adjust viscosity for spray application. Use cellulose thinners or similar proprietary products to clean brush or gun after use.

BUILD AND PRESSURE: For spray application a pressure of between 2.76-4.82 BAR is required at the gun. One coat of Isopon Zinc 182 will give a build of approximately 40-60 microns.

DRYING TIME: Approximately 3-4 hours drying time is required between coats, two coats are normally sufficient to give a satisfactory coating. Isopon Zinc 182 will be ready for over coating if left overnight to dry. The paint film can be baked at temperatures up to 120°C. Drying time is dependant on film thickness, Humidity and temperature.

OVER-PAINTING: Isopon Zinc 182 may be over-painted with most paint systems. Abrade lightly with 240 grit paper before over-painting.
